Makeup Collection and Muji Storage

I recently got round to organising and sorting through my makeup. I previously kept all of it in makeup bags and I never threw anything away. It was getting to the stage where I had 35 mascaras which I didn't use and I had no idea where half my makeup was! So I told myself that if I sorted out my makeup I would treat myself to some Muji storage, which every youtuber/blogger/human raves about.

I purchased two of the wide two drawers with the flip top lid, which came to around £23. I also had seen so many blog posts where people had similar looking acrylic lipstick holders on top, to show off what is arguably the most attractive makeup product, and so I invested in a large lipstick holder from amazon at £8.90.

So without further ado here is my new improved makeup storage:

I keep the majority of my makeup inside the drawers, with brushes (mostly real techniques, elf and mac), and large palettes (Naked, Naked 3 and Accessorize Exposed) either side. On top in the large lipstick holder, I store my favourite lipsticks and most of my every day makeup. I'm now going to break it down layer by layer to show you how I store everything.

Here's a quick overview of the holder which sits on top. On the left and behind the lipsticks I store some of my everyday products, so they're easy to grab in the hurry. Starting at the front I have Erase Paste, Rimmel Stay Matte, my well loved NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder and the only foundation light enough for my pasty winter skin MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation.
At the back I have Topshop Magic Liner, L'Oriel Volume Million Lashes, a very dirty Porefessional, Revlon ColorStay Concealer, Bourjois Bronzer and the Naked Basics Palette (You can tell I'm a bit of a fan of these!)
I'm not going to list all the lipsticks as we will be here all day... But my favourites are the Relvon Balm Stains in Elusive, Rendezvous and Lovesick, Topshop Lipsticks in Nevada and All About Me, Maybelline ColorSensational in Coral Tonic and Rimmel Kate Lipstick in 22 (a perfect red shade!)

You have to admit the lipsticks look so much nicer on display!

I like to organise my drawers by the order of how I put my makeup on, that way I can just work down the drawers and not forget anything. So naturally my first drawer is foundations, and this is when I really recommend getting the two drawer boxes rather than the five drawers as foundations won't fit, especially the chubby bottles like Revlon PhotoReady. I won't go through these as you can see the names pretty clearly, but feel free to ask me in the comments what any are.

Second drawer is everything else face makeup-y; concealers, blushes, primers, highlighters bronzers. There's a couple of the continuously hyped Lasting Perfection Concealers, my favourite (but too dark at the moment) bronzer Hoola, and a few travel size highlighters from benefit.

The next two drawers are a little more crammed and messy. This one I store mascaras, eye liners, single eyeshadows, brow mascaras and false lashes (so a bit of everything really.) My favourite products would have to be the Rimmel Exaggerate Eye Primer, the Rimmel nude eyeliner, my Maybelline brow drama mascara and the Millie Mackintosh lashes. I'm not a huge false eyelash girl, but I really like this set as it comes with half lashes, which are a lot more subtle and emphasise the outer corners of your eye.

My final drawer is again a bit of a mismatch. I keep smaller palettes that I don't use as much, like my MAC quad, and another limited edition mac palette. This drawer is also home to all my lip glosses. I am really not a lip gloss fan as I hate the sticky feeling of them, and how when its windy I just end up with hair stuck to my lips. But it seemed a waste to throw them away, and I think one day in the future I may rekindle my relationship with them, but until then they will be hidden away in this drawer.

Wow, that ended up being way longer than I expected, but I hope you managed to get a good overview of my storage and a few of my favourites in my collection. I really recommend Muji drawers as makeup these days has such pretty packaging, which is definitely worth showing off through these clear acrylic drawers. It also means that you end up using a wider variety of products, as when you open each drawer you are greeted with all your foundations or eyeshadows laid out nicely for you to choose, rather than them being hidden away in multiple makeup bags.

First blogpost over and it wasn't TOO scary! If you've done a makeup storage blog post please link it below as I'd love to see and get ideas from all of you. Any feedback also appreciated!

Oh, and I love these muji drawers. Being clear, one can actually see where everything is and if you're in a rush you can find everything imediately.
