Spring Fishtail Bun

I thought I'd share with you guys my favourite spring hair style. I always get so many comments when I do this, asking how I do it, when really it is so easy to do! I've also added some little daisy into the bun, which I think makes it look so summery and makes me feel like Rapunzel from Tangled... But obviously much more wearable!

I started by washing my hair with TRESemme Cleanse & Replenish Shampoo, and Colour Revitalise Conditioner, and giving it texture with Shockwaves Volume Mousse and then blow drying. Ideally this look works best on second or third day hair but I hate leaving my hair that long so instead I create volume and texture with L'Oreal's Matt & Messy Salt Spray.

The first thing I did was to tie my hair up into a pony tail on the top of my head, loosing it and pulling out little bits of hair out to make it a little bit more messy.

I then basically fishtail plait the pony tail. I won't go in depth with how to fishtail braid as there are hundreds of youtube tutorials that you can go watch, but basically you split your hair into two sections and take small sections from each side and cross it over to the other. The easiest way to do this stage without your arms absolutely dying (they will start to ache almost immediately, especially if you have long hair!) is to flip your head over as shown in the photos.

The final stage is to twist the braid round the pony tail and pin it in place with some bobby pins. Make sure to tuck the tail of the braid inside the bun to hide it. Then you can go crazy and add any sort of flowers or accessories. I went for these daisies which came from a "Make your own daisy chain" kit, which I got about 7 years ago. Just bobby pin them in place and add a touch of hairspray and you're ready to go!

And here's a quick spring outfit of the day! My top, maxi skirt and shoes are all from Topshop, I'm not sponsored by them I just absolutely love their clothes at the moment! My bracelets are Pandora, earrings from a market in turkey, and my watch is Urban Outfitters.

Hope you like this little tutorial, and let me know if there is any other posts you would like to see!
